Fida’s 27 Second Hand Shops in Finland are places where you can find real bargains. We sell good-quality used clothing, furniture, kitchenware and other small items – not forgetting antiques and design products.
Fida Second Hand Shops is pioneer of recycling in Finland: the first shop opened in Helsinki back in 1979.
The profit from the Fida Second Hand Shops is used to help people in need around the world. Every year, roughly two million people receive help through Fida and its partners.
Fida is one of the partner organisations of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland in development cooperation. Fida runs nearly 50 programmes in development cooperation, child sponsorship and humanitarian aid, improving people’s living conditions in 22 countries in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East.
Fida Second-Hand Shops accept donations of items that are in good condition and marketable: clothes, footwear, home textiles, kitchenware, books, furniture (selected shops only), toys, sports equipment, and DVDs and CDs. We also accept electronics and home appliances that are less than five years old, and old record players and radios are welcome too.
Clothing and goods can be taken directly to the shops during opening hours. The staff will assess the condition of the goods and decide whether or not they will be accepted. Clothes and durable small items packed in plastic bags can also be placed in our collection bins, which are emptied at least once a week.
If you wish to donate larger items or furniture, please contact the nearest Fida Second Hand Shop and ask about our free pick-up service. The driver will assess the condition of the items on site and decide whether or not they are suitable for us to sell in our shops.
When donating, please remember this important guideline: only donate the kind of goods you would think of buying yourself.
A warm thank you for your donation!
